Moving Sidewalks

Sometimes when I’m down, feeling blue, out of my element, etc… I try my best to look at the bright side. I think of all the things I should be thankful for. I think of those who have it harder than I. This time of year, it is especially easy to be thankful for things. And even when you’re at your worst, just remember; when you run down a moving sidewalk, you feel like you’re flying.

Seared

Have you ever been burned? Standing near the fire and watching the flames lick the oxygen out of the air, enchanting, magnetizing. You faintly hear someone call a warning, but it’s too late. You’ve already reached into the flames in a futile attempt to snatch the red and orange tongues between your fingertips. Immediately, you feel a searing shock shoot up your arm. You cry out, cradle your poor hand. Fat tears role down your face and cleanse the burn themselves. But do you honestly regret it? No, because for one second of your life, you weren’t quite human. You were something else entirely. Other worldly even. That’s what I’m doing here. I’m trying to make a point with all this. “We are not Humans that have Spiritual experiences. We are Spirits having a Human experience” - Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. Me? I’m just a voice. A voice that’s trying to help us become the Spirits we really are.
